Testimonials
Leanne is a truly inspiring individual. Here are eight tributes from people in her life:
How I know Leanne
I am a physician, privileged to meet Leanne 25 years ago. I have been a fan ever since. Although physically limited with cerebral palsy, she inspires with an infectious smile, speaking with an eloquence and humor beyond my belief. She is also a talented artist. Presented with a simple outline, she transforms the canvas with bright colors, flashes of light, including delicate flowers that seem to float effortlessly in the air, and a clear message, “Life is good. Celebrate each day!”
Please view Leanne’s video. Her work does not come easy, yet it appears to set her free, and she is happy.
Enjoy her images. Share your thoughts with Leanne.
Honor her spirit.
Her work may set you free as well.

Eight years ago I was contracted with the opportunity to share my passion for art with this truly beautiful and remarkably talented soul.
Working as her art teacher, one on one, I witnessed Leanne evolve and thrive. She has an incredibly sweet sense of humor and a smile that lights up a room.
As her art teacher, I personally witnessed Leanne’s determination, rejecting disability to define her life. On the contrary, she has transcended to a level of talent and accomplishment that even she never thought possible.
Presented with a rough sketch, she would delve into her unique lifetime experience, focus on heartfelt matters that make her smile, choose the colors, and with a little assistance and moral support, allow this inspiration to become a beautiful reality on canvas.
No matter how challenging the task I may have presented to her, Leanne responded with enthusiasm and unlimited persistence. Arising from this endeavor were born wondrous works of art and a beautiful friendship.
I encourage you to take a moment to appreciate her many works of art on display. Her positive attitude and ambition for life, in spite of her physical limitations, radiates throughout her work. The greatest masterpiece of all, however, the most astounding treasure,
is the life that she owns and embraces with a smile.
She is a true artist, one who sees the beauty in this world. Even the most ordinary elements are viewed with deep appreciation, as she creates her joyous images.
Leanne understands the gift of life.
I love you.
I have learned from you.
And, I have no doubt that others will do the same.

Leanne Lasofsky was a student of mine at the Cotting School many years back. It was a privilege to have taught her, but an even bigger privilege to have kept touch with her and her family since then. Leanne has had many obstacles to overcome, and with the support of her family and people who cared for and about her, she has accomplished so much.
As a student, Leanne loved learning, and this personal quality has taken her so far in her adult life. Leanne found her voice through artistic expression, both as a watercolor artist, and an author. Some of her paintings are held and cherished by people throughout the country, and her book is an inspiration.
Leanne expressed herself as an author in a book she published called, My Life. She set out to tell her story and did it with such maturity and depth of feeling. I was able to be present for the debut of her book at a local book store. The young girl that I taught so many years earlier had persevered to learn how to read and presented her thoughts so eloquently in front of a large audience. Her book reading was enthusiastically received. Leanne was poised and confident, and I was so impressed at how much she had grown academically to reach this point in her life.
I can see from the people in her life how much of an impact she has on people. Her own family is so loving and supportive of her, and I believe that this foundation has given her the courage to develop her interests and abilities, and reach new goals. What joy it gives me to see the accomplished woman she has become, and how she is now a role model to others.

I have known Leanne for almost 10 years. I'm pleased to be her friend. Leanne is a true joy and is graced with an immense spirit and tenacious drive. One of her many talents is her creative ability that finds its outlet in painting. She is truly gifted.
I have commissioned Leanne to create the artwork that appeared on the holiday cards that were sent to all the tenants in my office building in Guam (over 70). Her art is extraordinary and is only surpassed by the way in which she paints her pieces. To say that Leanne is an inspiration is an understatement.
It has been my privilege to know Leanne. She is a grand person with a special soul.

Leanne Lasofsky has the spirit of an artist, the soul of a saint -- and the drive of a CEO. In spite of some physical limitations, she creates artwork that reflects her spirit as she recreates the world around her. Her colors soar; her vision lifts us all into a better emotional space.
She now looks to build a business around her exceptional talent. This does not surprise me about Leanne, who will see a good idea through, from inception to completion. I am so proud of her work, and hope everyone will support this woman, who strives for independence every day of her life.

I feel fortunate and honored to have known Leanne for almost 20 years. From the beginning, in my classroom, Leanne had, and continues to have the motivation to do her best, be independent, tell her story, and develop her creative talents.
I’m pleased to be included in the creative efforts with which Leanne has been involved, and proud to see how her unique voice has grown and developed. From her book signing, to her art show in Concord, Leanne continues to expand and share her creative gifts.
I am pleased to have a “Leanne original” in my home. To me, it represents the heart and soul of a kind, talented person who has always been true to herself.

I have known Leanne a little over 8 years. And for the past 5 years, I have been her house manager.
Leanne is an intelligent woman. She is very organized, trustworthy, and straightforward.
Leanne wants to be a happy person.
The best way to make it happen is to be kind, smile and greet Leanne in a friendly manner.
Leanne can be shy and reserved at first; but if you treat her with respect and dignity as well as make an honest effort to build a relationship she will open up to you.
Leanne does not like to be treated as incapable or stupid. She likes when people listen before helping her accordingly.

I have been lucky enough to know Leanne for over 5 years since the day I began working at her Employment Program. Since that first day I met her, she has shown a great interest in art, a motivation to create unique paintings and the determination to not let any physical limitation hold her back from doing the things she loves.
She has shown amazing creativity not only in her art but in the way she problem solves and uses her resources to ensure she is living her best life. I am very lucky to have worked with such a strong spirit and feel very thankful that I get to continue to call her my friend.
